Western Australia’s leading cylinder head reconditioning shop had it’s beginnings in 1981 as Autocraft Engineering. In 1994 we changed the focus of our business from that of an all-round engine reconditioning shop, to that of a specialised cylinder head reconditioning workshop. Once the exhaustive and expensive process of retooling the workshop, changing the business systems and structure was completed in 1997, we changed our name to Head Exchange.

That same year, Head Exchange achieved recognition from our peers in the industry by being nominated and then winning the national ACL/ERA Engine Reconditioner of the year award.
Head Exchange was also awarded Capricorn Society’s “Million Dollar Supplier” status in August 2002.

Today Head Exchange employs 18 staff in its new modern Perth premises. The workshop is centrally located. Allowing us to provide a delivery service to most Perth suburbs. Country areas are serviced by daily pickups from most freight companies.

Our workshop is equipped with some of the most modern specialised machinery of its type in Australia. Head Exchange also has specialised measuring & testing equipment that many other cylinder head repairers do not have, such as digital hardness testers and an electronic surface finish tester. Extensive use of diamond tooled tips, cutters, hones and reamers in our workshop ensures machined surfaces of an extremely high quality.

With more than 600 exchange heads on the shelf, we can supply most cylinder heads immediately, no waiting, no fuss, to help you get your vehicle back on the road quickly.

Unlike some other cylinder head repairers we do not charge any extra money if your return cylinder head is found to be unusable.
